Traffic & Road Conditions: Construction is constant. I-75 through this stretch seems perpetually under repair. Watch for potholes, especially in spring - Michigan roads are notoriously rough. The I-475 bypass loop around Flint's west side is usually smoother and less congested than going straight through on I-75.

Gas & Food Stops: Fill up before or after Flint - gas stations right off Flint exits can be hit-or-miss for safety/cleanliness. Best bet: Exit 122 (Grand Blanc) is a newer, well-maintained area with all major chains. Birch Run (Exit 136) north of Flint has a huge outlet mall and good food options if you need a longer break.

Safety Notes: Stay on the highway. - some neighborhoods near the exits have high crime rates. Keep valuables out of sight if you do stop. Don't stop for "emergencies" staged on the shoulder - call 911 instead.

Quick Necessities: If you're looking for bathrooms, stick to major chain gas stations or the Birch Run outlets. Time of day matters: Avoid rush hours (7-9 AM, 4-6 PM) if possible. You'll be through the metro area in about 15-20 minutes with normal traffic. It's a quick pass-through.
